About us
As a production company, Plotlessfilm focuses on the interface between entertaining genre films and artistic arthouse cinema.
Background
As an independent platform, we offer a point of contact for the development and production of sophisticated documentaries, feature films and series formats. Our goal is to support and promote regional talent and to establish ourselves on the film market through national and international co-productions with experienced filmmakers.
Artistic independence and collective working methods are at the forefront and promote new synergies. Creative exchange and joint development with our partners is a fundamental part of our concept. The films developed from this tell extraordinary and moving stories, always driven by the question: What does it mean to be human?
Plotlessfilm was founded by Julian Gerchow, Maximilian Hasenstab and Dascha Petuchow during their joint studies at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden. Due to the positive reorientation and strengthening of the Hessian film scene, we saw the opportunity to build a sustainable company structure. Director and producer Tom Schreiber, who had already supervised the founding members' university projects as a teacher, also became a permanent part of Plotlessfilm in February 2022.
Since then, we have been steadily expanding our involvement in the film art and culture scene. Since 2023, we have been part of ATELIERFRANKFURT, the largest art centre in Hesse at Frankfurt's Osthafen, and are involved in associations such as the young generation of Hessian film, the Hessen Film initiative and the young talent section of PROG Producers of Germany e.V.
With our mix of young talent and experience, we develop and produce projects for both national and international markets.
