We, KINSKI and I

I am still the same person I never was.

In WE, ‘KINSKI’ AND I, people speak out, offering insight into a life with mental illness. A balancing act between speaking and remaining silent begins. Silence out of consideration for the feelings of the viewers. And insisting on what is important to them, which seems unspeakable and yet must be spoken. Through hurt, fear and hope, they reveal their view of the world and their personal stories. Inspired by authentic portraits of clients of the Pestalozzi Foundation in Hamburg, the authors create a polyphony of life stories that have fallen from public view into silence. The play by Metin Turan & Wiebe Bökemeier is funded by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Ministry of Culture and Media, and produced in collaboration with HLTM. The world premiere took place at Kampnagel.
